About Us

At WPM, we believe that the concept of a dream car should not be confined to high-end exotic models. Instead, we advocate for the idea that a dream car can emerge from a regular vehicle, fueled by creativity and supported by a community of fellow enthusiasts. Our goal is to inspire individuals who aspire to build their dream cars.

To facilitate this journey, we have created a website offering a curated selection of parts and accessories that we personally recommend for our projects, as well as the tools necessary to bring these visions to life.

We invite you to follow our builds on all our social media platforms and discover the inspiration to create your own unique vehicles. At WPM, we reject the notion of “should’ve” and encourage you to take action now, pursuing your automotive dreams without regrets.

One repair helps the next.

The WPM Community Repair Program is our way of helping the automotive community while building a free resource for people who want to learn how to work on their own cars.

We're selecting vehicles in the San Francisco Bay Area and providing the repair labor completely free. In exchange, we'll document the repair and create videos showing how the job is done. These videos will become part of the growing WPM Repair Library, with everything from general automotive knowledge to detailed, model-specific repairs.

For now, you'll be responsible for the cost of any parts, fluids, or materials your vehicle needs. As the program grows, our goal is to work with automotive brands and sponsors who can help provide those as well.

There is no required labor charge. If your vehicle is selected, we may provide a suggested contribution to help support future Community Repairs and our goal of eventually moving into a dedicated WPM shop. Any contribution is completely voluntary and does not affect whether your vehicle is selected.

We're starting small with a minimum of one Community Repair each week and will expand as our space, equipment, community, and support grow.

Whether it's an oil change, a problem you've been putting off, or a repair you've already received a quote for, tell us what your car needs.

If it's a good fit for an upcoming Community Repair, we'll reach out to get more information.

Your car gets repaired. We create the guide. The next person learns from it. That's how we build the pack.

FAQ

Is It Really Free?

Yes. If your vehicle is selected for a WPM Community Repair, WPM does not charge you for the agreed-upon repair labor.

You are currently responsible for the parts, fluids, and other materials your vehicle requires unless WPM or one of our partners agrees to provide them.

Do I have to make a contribution?

No. Contributions are completely voluntary.

For selected repairs, we may provide a suggested contribution based on approximately 50% of the verified professional labor cost. Contributions help us fund future Community Repairs, purchase equipment, and work toward getting WPM into its own dedicated shop.

You can contribute the suggested amount, a different amount, or nothing at all.

Why is WPM doing the labor for free?

Because the repair becomes the content.

We want to build a library that teaches people how to diagnose, maintain, and repair their own vehicles. Your repair gives us an opportunity to create a guide that can help other owners with the same vehicle or problem.

How else can I support the program?

Even if you don't need a repair, there are plenty of ways you can help.

You can support WPM by watching and sharing our videos, following us on social media, using our affiliate links when you need a tool or product we've demonstrated, and supporting the companies that help make Community Repairs possible.

If you simply want to help us keep the program going, you can also contribute directly through the PayPal link on this page. Contributions help support future Community Repairs, tools and equipment, program expenses, and our long-term goal of expanding into a dedicated WPM facility where we can help more people and take on bigger projects.

Every bit of support helps us create another repair guide, help another vehicle owner, and continue building the WPM Repair Library.

Do I have to be okay with my repair being filmed?

Yes. Creating educational content is the reason we're able to provide the labor for free.

If selected, we'll discuss filming and content permissions with you before the repair. You don't necessarily have to personally appear on camera.
Our focus is the vehicle and repair, not your personal information. We'll also make reasonable efforts to avoid displaying private information in our content.

What kinds of repairs, services, or modifications do you accept?

We're interested in everything from routine maintenance and diagnostics to mechanical repairs and simple modifications or performance upgrades.

This can include oil changes, brakes, suspension, cooling-system repairs, leaks, electrical problems, check-engine lights, maintenance services, bolt-on upgrades, and many other repairs or modifications.

Our current space, time, and equipment don't allow us to take on long-term builds, major fabrication projects, restorations, or vehicles that would need to stay with us for an extended period. Those larger projects are part of WPM's long-term plans as the program grows.

If you're unsure whether your repair or modification qualifies, submit your vehicle anyway. Tell us what you need or what you'd like to have done, and we'll review it to see if it's something we can currently take on.

Does submitting my vehicle guarantee it will be selected?

No. Submitting your vehicle does not guarantee that we'll be able to work on it.

We review each submission and select vehicles based on our current schedule, available space and equipment, repair complexity, parts availability, and how useful the repair would be as educational content for other vehicle owners.

We're not simply choosing the most expensive repairs. We're looking for jobs that we can safely and realistically complete while creating useful content for the WPM Repair Library.

The amount you choose to contribute does not affect whether your vehicle is selected.

If your vehicle is a good fit for an upcoming Community Repair, we'll reach out to you for additional information and the next steps.

Do I need a repair quote?

Not for the initial submission.

Just tell us what vehicle you have and what you believe it needs.

If we're interested in selecting your vehicle, we may ask for a professional repair estimate or, for common services such as an oil change, a previous receipt showing the labor cost.

What if I don't know what's wrong with my car?

That's okay.

Tell us the symptoms you're experiencing rather than guessing what part needs to be replaced.

A diagnostic problem can actually make great educational content.

Who pays for the parts, and can I bring my own?

For now, the vehicle owner is generally responsible for the cost of any parts, fluids, and materials required for the repair.

You may be able to provide your own parts, but we'll need to verify that they're correct and appropriate for your vehicle before agreeing to install them.

If you don't already have the parts, that's okay too. We'll discuss what's needed with you before the repair is scheduled.

As the WPM Community Repair Program grows, we're working toward partnerships with automotive companies that may be able to help provide parts, fluids, and other materials for future repairs.

What happens if you find something else wrong with my car?

We'll contact you.

Being selected for one Community Repair doesn't automatically mean every additional problem discovered on the vehicle is included. We'll discuss the issue and available options with you before expanding the agreed repair.

Where are you located, and how long will you need my car?

The WPM Community Repair Program currently serves the San Francisco Bay Area. Specific scheduling and vehicle drop-off/pick-up information will be provided if your vehicle is selected.

How long we need your vehicle will depend on the repair. We'll discuss the expected timeframe with you before scheduling your vehicle.

Because we're also filming and documenting the repair to create educational content, some repairs may take longer than they would during a normal shop appointment.

Can I submit a friend's or family member's vehicle?

Absolutely.

They'll ultimately need to communicate with us and authorize the repair if the vehicle is selected, but you're welcome to send them this page and encourage them to apply.
